The patient (a writer living in Italy) came to the clinic with numerous fillings in the cervical area of her teeth, as well as four broken veneers due to a severely compressed bite. It made her self-conscious about her smile.

She wanted to restore only the upper dentition because it was most visible while smiling. Dr. Anokhina used a combination of three shades to harmonize the restored upper dentition with the lower one:

• The incisal edge of the upper teeth was only one tone lighter
• The middle part corresponded to the whitest part of the lower teeth
• The color of the apex (near the gums) was similar to the color of the lower teeth.
